• Sheepskin from hair sheep:

Sheepskin is regarded among the best glove leathers, especially skins from Ethiopia, Nigeria and South Africa. The main attributes are a very smooth and soft/supple grain combined with light weight and extreme tensile strength.

• Deerskin:

Deerskin is an excellent glove leather due to its extreme softness, unparalleled durability, and ability to remain soft when wet. It has a very desirable plump, pebble grain characteristic appearance.

• Cowhide:

Cowhide is known for its durability and soft feel. The stretch is good, but not as good as sheepskin and deerskin. It is more competitively priced than sheepskin and deerskin, in terms of value, cowhide is a great all around leather for a wide variety of gloves, such as those used in motorsport and better quality outdoor sports gloves 0.8 – 0.9 mm or 0.9 – 1.0 mm.

• Goatskin：

Goat leather is one of the most widely used glove leathers. Goat is best for value and durability.

Its main advantage is a lower cost than sheep and deer, yet its strength properties are fairly close.

It looks a little grainier than cowhide — fine in some applications and less desirable in others 0.7 – 0.8 mm and 0.8 -0.9 mm.

• Pigskin:

Pigskin is the lowest cost leather option and is generally suitable for lower price points, but not the best for durability and soft feel. 0.6 – 0.7mm to 0.8-0.9mm.
